For me the elephant in the room that nobody mentions, that I'm aware of, is that BTC and all cryptos could be globally outlawed. Sounds ridiculous but if or rather when the central bankers deem it to be a real threat in an ever increasing surveillance age, and we've historically seen them act badly towards nations striving for an autonomous currency, (Lybia being poignant), they could easily do this. After being warned anyone trading or even holding BTC could be tracked down and jailed. We saw something like this, as mentioned, in '33 with the compulsory selling of gold to the U.S. government and in other countries. Bere in mind that if one has already purchased precious metals and have them hidden, claims they were sold long ago for cash are almost impossible to disprove and unless they are located they are safe. Daniel Pena, the multi-billionaire, is famous for saying its all going to "Zero!" He has no hesitation to shout this at his audiences with hige conviction, love him or hate him. Initially I thought he was just full of P & vinegar but actually he may be frighteningly correct the way the world is going and the track record of central banks who control all supply of currency.
