Good Sunday morning to you,
Hyper-inflationary collapse, mining promoters and our former deputy PM for you to enjoy today, starting with this excellent write up by Amanda Van Dyke, of the Secret History of Gold. Well worth a read from someone who actually managed gold funds for a living, and who indeed comes from a mining family, so knows her onions.
I particularly liked this line, “I was actually responsible for recommending Dominic as a comedian for the Mines and Money Gala Dinner, where his skewering of junior mining promoters was so on-point that it ended the organisers’ experiment with comedy altogether.” 😂
The Secret History of Gold is available to at Amazon, Waterstones and all good bookshops. I hear the audiobook, read by me, is excellent. Amazon is currently offering 20% off.
You might enjoy this 2-minute video, to the music of Grieg, which I posted over on my comedy Substack about the lighter side of hyperinflationary collapse. I’m extremely proud of it - Goat, my editor, has done an amazing job. As it’s called Printing Just A Little Bit, and it’s about money, I thought it appropriate to post here. Enjoy:
Finally, here’s another little vid, shot on a mobile phone at Crazy Coqs this week, about karma and out former deputy PM.
If you do ever want to come and watch my shows, my dates are all here.
Crazy Coqs in Piccadilly Circus, where the above vid was shot, is especially popular (all this year’s dates have already sold out). In the next few weeks I am on the south coast in Southampton, up north in Yorkshire Huddersfield and then neither up nor down in Birmingham.
Have a lovely day.
And say NO to digital ID.
Until next time,
Dominic
