I know of a 13 year old white girl who was groomed by her much older, UK-born 1st-generation Pakistani heritage “boyfriend”. She had fallen in love. But she was then abducted and held for sex with other Muslim men.
She was a close family relative.
This was nearly 42 years ago - in 1983- in a poorer suburb of Leeds (today it is now a student accommodation area) but only 2 miles from Leeds’ substantial Muslim community in Harehills.
Social services eventually “rescued” her but labelled her a “prostitute” and took her into care, away from her family (single parent mum and older sister). Her immediate family turned against her for a while. A formerly very bright student, she failed to achieve any GCSEs (‘O’ levels back then).
Then, as a young adult at 18 she married a young Muslim man who she met in care, and had three children before they split up. Her grandparents (living in an affluent suburb and members of the local Conservative party) reacted with openly racist contempt and placed the only photo of the young woman and her family on their ‘photo wall’ (with its dozens of pictures of other, white grandkids) but actually placed the picture of the Asian looking children where it was essentially hidden from view behind a sofa (I had nothing to do with these relatives after this point, and since then have been subjected to hate and vitriol by most of my family to this day for daring to call out these beloved elders).
So, this young woman was the victim of deep seated racism twice, and openly labelled a whore by two communities.
