Dear Dominic

Thankyou for the interview.

That was excellent.

I laughed out loud when you said that more people have a smart phone than a toilet.

Cearly the powerful (I prefer not to use the word government - as that implies legitimacy) have more interest in manipulating the poor, than in raising their standard of living.

In some countries, smart phone purchases are heavily subsidised by the powerful, such that more children have a smartphone than a bicycle, or a ball to play with.

But they get unlimited Face Book.

I wonder why ?

God Bless

The Facebook thing is all over LATAM prepaid cellular plans. Unlimited FB, IG, and WhatsApp with even the cheapest data packages.

A lot of small business owners do their communication with customers via WhatsApp instead of over a regular telephone number.

And a lot of their business "websites" are just Facebook profiles.

These people have so many of their eggs in the Meta basket. It's also a huge security issue.

"Where is all the money going". Well, the retired population has been steadily growing as a portion of the population for a number of years now. They eat all the healthcare and all the pension money. There's no reason to assume that the demand for public services and entitlements will grow in line with gdp.
