Do you not believe that we in the UK and indeed the wider West are regressing in our approach towards the sort of exchange you're writing about?

I take a different view to the line that authoritarian regimes are inherently less open. Sure they might be less open to, say, sodomy, but in my engagement with and life in the gulf and discussions with far eastern folks, they are far more open to learn, earn and trade than the West is now.

There's a genuine feeling in those countries that the West is closing in on itself as it fears the rise of ideas and products from the East, is actively blocking the free flow that you write about and is even stoking various conflicts.

Will love to see the UK rising up to lead the Anglosphere. The Americans are far too rotten to provide any leadership.

Concise and informative as ever. Bravo! I worry that as the drawbridge to the castle of the elites is raised ever higher that this lack of free exchange will ultimately be our downfall. If you have time I’d love your thoughts on techno-feudalism which I tried to explain here..

and then there’s the problem of bubbles and echo chambers, where no exchange is possible or even allowed. Arguably the reason why we’re in the mess we’re in.
