Agree with much of the analysis. Although i disagree with the conclusion. We are never powerless. We are choosing not to act.

Much of our choice is tempered by repercussions. Straying from the narrative can get you cancelled. However this is now changing. In response to the Israel-Gaza conflict we have seen mainstream conservatives comment openly on elements within society who may not belong. They are even using the R-word, repatriation. They are doing so very carefully of course, but they are at least discussing it.

Your own Substack is part of the counterargument. You are publicizing and discussing these things. I have read the transcript. I am now commenting. These may not accomplish a lot, but they represent something.

Culture matters and much is downstream from it. And I suggest the visibility of mass immigration will accelerate the move from acquiescence to open discussion to action.

Each one of us is guilty of all the good we did not do. —Voltaire

But, Jefferson worried that the people - and the argument goes back to Thucydides and Aristotle - are easily misled. He also stressed, passionately and repeatedly, that it was essential for the people to understand the risks and benefits of government, to educate themselves, and to involve themselves in the political process. Without that, he said, the wolves will take over. —Carl Sagan, The Demon-Haunted World

Quite agree. Modern democracy is partly steered via propaganda campaigns. Although it is running out of steam. Ireland being a case in point.

Excellent, if chilling, analysis. We are being denied a positive narrative to describe ourselves, our history and our many accomplishments. It’s easy to destroy a culture which has been taught to hate itself.

I disagree that Alexander was the first great empire. The Assyrians, the Egyptians, the Babylonians and the Persians all had great empires before Alexander. Other than Greece almost all of Alexander’s territory was conquered from the Persian Empire. Alexander’s was the largest at that time, but the idea that the Persian Empire wasn’t great is silly.

So, this immediately raises the question:

If the New Conservative Party, or National Conservative Party is formed; how would it ensure that it was proofed against influence from large donors who might want to steer its policies, maybe not at first but when it starts to matter as a political force.

How does Reform cope with this issue?

As the Brexit party, it was originally formed as a company, by Catherine Blaiklock, before being passed over to Nigel Farage as soon as he could be convinced that it was a viable alternative to UKIP.

Perhaps any new party would be best ruling out donations over a certain size simple to keep it democratic? Just stick to small annual subscriptions?

Full heartedly agree. I observed that the acceleration of the downfall of the west began with super pacs. Why should the likes of George Soros, bill gates, Zuckerberg or that immature Sam bank man Freid and more determine the elections?

We have allowed the elite to control the fabric of our lives. Our politicians are all on the take operating a racketeering operation in our face!

And note that even mighty Alexander was eventually stopped in India, and certainly hearing of China farther east gave him some pause for thought. The going was not so easy once he got past the Persian realms.

Speaking of the U.S. hegemony on culture, the movie "300", about the Persians trying to crush tiny Sparta as part of their "one world ruled by one master" agenda, was based on an earlier film, The 300 Spartans. This interesting quote is from the end of the movie "...But it was more than a victory for Greece, it was a stirring example to free people throughout the world of what a few brave men can accomplish once they refuse to submit to tyranny!"

Meanwhile, back in Persia-America-Euroland, it is astonishing to see the repercussions from this "destroy ourselves, and gleefully!" folly. The U.S. with 30 trillion debt and counting. Europeans seem to also have lost their minds. Michelin closing up shop in Germany because of high energy costs. Selfishly, I will be sad when I am no longer able to buy my Gatorback (puncture proof) bicycle tires. Made in Germany. Or were.

An astute assessment of the unenviable state in which we find ourselves, though I am not sure that changing our system of money and tax is going to be the answer.

I would argue that a non-violent solution to this predicament is possible, by democratic means. The pre-requisite for this to happen is for reasonable (true) liberals to start effectively and proactively asserting themselves against the forces of Third-Way conformity. I have just written about this on my Substack, in case you are interested.

Thanks Dominic as always. I have thought over the last few days about your comment that The State is armed and we are not; and I think it was mentioned in the context of a possible armed uprising of some sort, however The State is armed with all sorts of things, not just physically but via huge amounts of pointless legislation, the narrative of the MSM (in particular the Beeb), Social Media, the Civil Service and a brainwashed public. Those combined are far more effective than any weapon!

I do fear that what happened in Ireland is just going to reoccur on a much more regular basis. However misguided that is, people are just fed up and feel that they have no other way of being heard above the noise of inclusivity and political correctness. Sadly, it won’t be bloodless.

Keep up the good work, apparently LSO said you turned down the job of Chancellor?! 😂

I appreciate you making comments. Please try to keep them measured and sensible. I don’t have time to police them and this is not Twitter so please exercise some judgement. One poster in particularis generating all sorts of complaints both from individuals and Substack itself. If you can’t self- censor than I will just have to block you. Sorry but I don’t have resources to do anything else and I cannot allow this Substack which I have spent a lot of time and effort building up to be perceived as extremist based on a couple of comments the worldview of which is not my own.

Dominic, I don't think you've looked very closely at what China is doing, right under our noses, and many other western governments. China is actively steering the agenda through 3rd parties, NGOs', media contacts, it runs the UN, WEF, WHO etc etc. Did that Labour MP who took a big bung resign? No chance. Do some research on Biden and his son. And look into CCP involvement in Canada for the past 20-30 years.
