Lovely stuff Dominic. Food for thought. And thanks for the mention. Yes indeed. I think we discover jokes rather than invent them. Because the link between what a comedian says, and the audience laughing, must be pre existing. The audience recognises the βtruthβ of the gag even if they have never thought of it before. Yes. I can talk high brow all day about knob gags. Great piece!
Have you ever explored the works of Iain McGilchrist? You might find them of interest. He is a philosopher and former neuro scientist. He has his own channel and a lot of free content on You Tube.
Good thoughts! I like to think that it all goes into some massive, yet ethereal solid state drive in the sky...sort of. If we are all to be judged by our Creator, then He must certainly have access to our thoughts and feelings, in addition to how we acted on them. Sorting it all out? That's the job of the Original Intelligence that created the universe.
What a great thought. Look into Dolores Cannon and the fifth dimension. What concerns me most at the moment are people like Yuval Noah Harari, who seem to be advocating the only way humans are going to exist very soon, is by transforming into A.I. The ending of Spielberg's film of the same name seems to intimate this.
Or even thought crime... if there is a place where thoughts go to see out the rest of their days, are they being monitored and am I going to get a knock on the door...
Excellent Sunday morning stroll podcast. Thanks Dominic. All sorts of thoughts going through my head now - Dementia thoughts, brain injury / epilepsy thoughts, childhood / adulthood thoughts.......
Posts like this generate so many thoughts in my mind that are just going to be wasted - or are they?
I guess it's just part of conscious human experience - everything is just an idea, our sense of self, our perception of the world - and society is just the intersection of ideas. We can never capture and store the full richness of human experience, we just bear witness to it and let it go.
Life is an infinite canvas which could brith an infinite number of potential paintings - ideas are not a limited resource so we should spend them gregariously.

That's interesting - a pre-exisiting link. I had never thought of that.

Yes. I happened to be at another funeral yesterday of a religious man, and this notion was quite apparent during the ceremony.

Great post.
Thanks Ankur. Very interesting. Psychedelics definitely a short cut and not a very healthy one
