Learn to fall in love with nature

Embrace the seasons with gusto!

(If you like pina coladas,... and gettin caught in the rain)😉

Change your expectation for appreciation

Everyday above the grass is a good day

Then you will be happy!😃👍

I've been for a Sunday morning swim, read your lovely non woke sermon and now I'm about to have roast beef with all the trimmings washed down with sticky toffee pudding and custard. I have a lot to be thankful for regardless of all the muppets who govern us. Have a lovely day🌞.

Thank you for this.

The wee stuff really is the big stuff. In the book, The Artist's Way, Julia Cameron sets out an exercise called The Morning Pages. to my mind, it's the most powerful tool in the whole book. Simply writing down your thoughts, fears, hopes, dreams and gratitude every morning is the best way I've come across to sharpen your focus and clear you head.

The wee stuff really is the big stuff.

Yes. I'm not familiar with that book but it seems like I should ready it. I'd say that practice is a form of prayer or, as it's known today, meditation. I had a big paragraph on that which I cut out due to length - but that will be in pt II.

Thanks, really good advice. According to my GP, Vitamin D supplements are also crucial to keeping our mood up and we should all be taking 2000 units a day. It's the sunshine vitamin 😎

But the sun is better than the pills, I'll bet

Well apparently, unless you live in the Tropics, it is impossible to get sufficient Vitamin D from sunshine alone (I'm not sure if eating a lot of cheese can compensate)....but psychologically, sunshine beats pills hands down!

I am confused about this advice, because the sun also does a lot of damage. I have spent very little time in the sun and so my skin is very young looking in my 40s, whereas I see very wrinkled people of all ages who were/are sun and beach lovers.

There's also the skin cancer risk.

In addition, I've noticed how South Facing houses, although used as a selling point by estate agents, often have very sun -damaged furniture, curtains, fittings etc.

Thank you. I would like to add...do with relationships what your brain synapses naturally do, namely reinforce good ones that work for you and cut bad ones that don't.

Beautiful post. I would also like to share journaling! Journaling your thoughts, feelings, events in your life and how they've affected you whatever you want! Make yourself your primary source of study. I've grown so much since journaling and studying myself.

Can't disagree with any of that. Good stuff!

Re expectations: if you can learn to just let go of them, good or bad, it helps. (I had to do this - a life of auditions means one hell of a lot of smashed dreams if you don't.) If I catch myself deciding in advance what something or someone will be like, I try to replace it with "Hey, who knows what will happrn? Surprise me, life!" It often does. 🙂

From my own experience, I couldn't agree more.

Common sense and keeping it simple works every time (and for pretty much everything, not just health!).

Nice one Dom.

Dominic I find it very difficult to listen to your podcast. Why? I’ve opened a Substack account btw. I’m not a paid subscriber. I’ve been trying to listen to it on my iPhone.
